About KKA

KulturKontakt Austria (KKA)

ist ein europäisches Kompetenz- und Ressourcenzentrum mit den Kernbereichen schulische Kulturvermittlung in Österreich, internationale Bildungskooperation und internationale Residence-Programme für KünstlerInnen aus dem Ausland. Die Servicestelle für Mobilitätsprogramme setzt Aktivitäten im Bereich der Initiative “weltweit unterrichten” des BMUKK.
Die geographischen Schwerpunkte liegen in Österreich sowie in Ost- und Südosteuropa. Darüber hinaus führt KKA auch Aktivitäten im gesamt- und außereuropäischen Raum durch.
KKA verpflichtet sich in seiner Arbeit den auf europäischer Ebene formulierten bildungs- und kulturpolitischen Grundprinzipien eines inklusiven Umgangs mit Vielfalt und Unterschiedlichkeit (Diversität) und lebensbegleitenden Lernens. Auf dieser Basis gestaltet KKA seine Aktivitäten im Sinne eines chancengerechten Zugangs zu Bildung, Kultur und Kunst.
Der Hauptfördergeber von KulturKontakt Austria ist das Bundesministerium für Unterricht, Kunst und Kultur (BMUKK).

KulturKontakt Austria (KKA)

is a European centre of competence and resources whose core areas of activity are cultural education in Austrian schools, international educational cooperation, and international residency programmes for artists from abroad. The Service Centre for International Mobility Programmes implements activities in the context of the initiative “weltweit unterrichten” (Teaching Worldwide) of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture.
KKA focuses geographically on Austria as well as on Eastern and South Eastern Europe. In addition, KKA carries out activities throughout the entire European region and globally.
In its work, KKA is committed to the fundamental principles of educational and cultural policy, formulated at European level, of dealing inclusively with diversity and promoting lifelong learning. Based on these principles, KKA designs its activities and programmes with the objective of creating equal access to education, culture and the arts for all.
The principal funding body of KulturKontakt Austria is the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture (BMUKK).
