Dreimal jährlich erscheint das Magazin kulturkontakt, das sich mit aktuellen Themen aus den Bereichen Kunst, Kultur und Bildung auseinandersetzt. Jedes Heft hat ein Schwerpunktthema, zu dem nationale und internationale Positionen veröffentlicht werden. Ergänzt werden diese durch die Vorstellung beispielhafter Projekte von KKA. 
Das Magazin erscheint in einer Auflage von 6.800 Stück und wendet sich an Personen aus dem bildungs- und kulturpolitischen Umfeld, Kulturinstitutionen im In- und Ausland, Opinion Leader, JournalistInnen, NetzwerkpartnerInnen und Interessensgemeinschaften.

Our kulturkontakt magazine is published three times a year and is devoted to topical subjects in the fields of the arts, culture and education. Each issue has a particular area of emphasis. In a discourse section, the magazine presents external national and international positions on the subject being focussed on in that issue. Another section, devoted to projects, presents exemplary KulturKontakt Austria projects in the respective subject area.
Our magazine, which has a circulation of 6,800 copies, has a very heterogeneous target group. It is mailed to persons involved in educational and cultural policy, cultural institutions in Austria and abroad, opinion leaders, network partners, and persons belonging to a variety of interest groups.

Frühjahr | Spring 2010

In den letzten Jahren hat der Begriff der Diversität verstärkt Einzug in die öffentliche Debatte gehalten. Wirtschaftsunternehmen, Medien, Bildungsorganisationen und Kulturinstitutionen nehmen immer öfter ihre Verantwortung wahr, mit der Unterschiedlichkeit von MitarbeiterInnen und KlientInnen angemessen umgehen zu lernen.
Das vorliegende Magazin spiegelt den derzeitigen internationalen Diskussionsstand aber auch jenen auf der Ebene von KKA. Es soll neugierig machen auf das Thema selbst, unsere konkrete Arbeit daran, aber auch auf andere Institutionen, die sich dieser Herausforderung stellen.

In recent years, the concept of diversity has belatedly found its way into the public debate.
Business enterprises, media, educational organisations and cultural institutions are increasingly recognising and exercising their responsibility to learn how to deal appropriately with the diversity of their employees and clients.
This issue of KKA magazine reflects the state of the current discussion internationally as well as at KKA. It is intended to arouse curiosity about the subject itself, about our specific work in this area, and also about other institutions that are rising to the same challenge.

Sommer | Summer 2011

Die Sommerausgabe widmet sich der sozialen Inklusion.
Einen erfrischenden Blick auf das Thema geben ExpertInnen aus Österreich - etwa zu den Möglichkeiten von partizipativer Evaluation – und aus Südosteuropa. Der Beitrag aus Serbien reflektiert den Stand der dortigen Inklusionsdebatte und geht auf die LehrerInnenbildung ein. Einen Einblick in die Inklusion von (nicht)behinderten Menschen aus Sicht einer lokalen NGO in Moldau ergänzt den Blick nach Südosteuropa.
In diesem Heft kommen verstärkt Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene zu Wort. Sie berichten über ihren Alltag in einer Integrationsklasse und kommentieren die Beteiligungsmöglichkeiten von Jugendlichen.
Zusätzlich finden sich Beiträge über konkrete Projekte von KKA, die den Anliegen von sozialer Inklusion in unterschiedlicher Weise Rechnung tragen.

This time our theme is social inclusion.
Experts from both Austria and our partner countries have taken a refreshing look at the subject of inclusion. One example is the article on participative evaluation. A contribution from Serbia reflects the current debate on inclusion in that country and examines the situation there in the field of teacher education and training in some detail. Another article gives insights into the situation with respect to the inclusion of persons with (so-called) disabilities from the perspective of a local NGO in Moldova.
Considerable space in this issue has been devoted to the views of young people and young adults. They describe their everyday experiences in an inclusion class and comment on participation opportunities for young people.
The »Practice« section of this magazine is devoted to specific activities of KKA that attempt, in various ways, to promote social inclusion.

Winter 2010

Das Thema dieses Magazins soll verschiedene Formen und Ausprägungen von Netzwerkarbeit in KKA darstellen, darüber hinaus auch Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten im Bildungs- und Kulturzusammenhang diskutieren. Wir haben dabei versucht, die vorurteilsbelasteten Zuschreibungen, mit denen auch gelungene Netzwerkarbeit zu kämpfen hat, zu hinterfragen und den Blick auf ihre Potentiale zu richten.
Mit der provokativen Frage „Is Net-working Not-working?“ hat vor kurzem eine Konferenz auf die Problematik von Netzwerken aufmerksam gemacht. Und tatsächlich: Oft liegt der Grund, ein Netzwerk ins Treffen zu führen, darin, dass es an klaren Verantwortungen, Zielen, Ressourcen und Arbeitsbeziehungen mangelt.

This issue of our magazine presents the various types and forms of networking involved in the work of KulturKontakt Austria, and also discusses possibilities for development in this context in connection with education and culture. We have attempted to scrutinise the prejudices that even successful networks have to contend with, as well as to focus attention on their potential.
With the provocative question “Is Net-working Not-working?”, a recent conference called attention to the issue of networks. And, in fact: often the reason for proposing a network is that there is a lack of clearly defined areas of responsibility, objectives, resources and working relationships.

Herbst | Autumn 2010

 

Wir haben diesmal eine Reihe von ExpertInnen um Kommentare zu zukunftsweisenden Konzepten für Bildung und Kultur und um ihre Einschätzung der möglichen Konsequenzen gebeten. Einen weiteren wichtigen Eckpunkt bildet das Gespräch zwischen der Schülervertreterin Pia Bauer und dem Künstler Skero über ihre Sicht der Zukunft. Nicht zuletzt ist auch von den hauseigenen innovativen Projekten die Rede, welche sich vorgenommen haben, neue Wege zu beschreiten und richtungsweisende Handlungsperspektiven zu entwickeln. Wie immer setzen wir auch die Werke von KünstlerInnen ins Bild, jenen „Provokateuren der Zukunft, die Katapulte für Würfe ins Übergewöhnliche bauen“ (Sloterdijk).

For the autumn issue of kulturkontakt magazine, we invited a number of experts to present their viewpoints on future-oriented concepts for education and culture as well as their assessments of the possible consequences.
The magazine also features an interview with federal school students’ spokesperson Pia Bauer and musician/artist Skero on their ideas about the future. In addition, this issue presents KKA’s own innovative projects aimed at breaking new ground and opening up perspectives for trend-setting action. As always, we have also put a spotlight on the works of artists, those “agitators of the future, who build catapults for shots into the realm of the outstanding“ (Sloterdijk).

Winter 2009

Diese Ausgabe des KKA Magazins widmet sich fast ausschließlich den Themenabenden anlässlich 20 Jahre KulturKontakt Austria. Sie finden hier Impulsreferate, eine Zusammenfassung der Diskussionen und so manch optisches Versatzstück der Gespräche.
Sich Raum und Zeit zu nehmen, um wichtige Schlüsselfragen von Bildung, Kunst und Kultur zu diskutieren, welche verstärkt in unsere zukünftige Arbeit einfließen sollen, erschien uns wichtig.
Gesellschaftliche Teilhabe, Mobilität, sozialer Wandel und CCSR waren jene Themen, in denen wir uns verorten wollten. Es ist uns gelungen, dafür wichtige nationale und internationale DiskutantInnen an ein Panel zu bringen und mit ihnen inWorkshop-Atmosphäre zentrale Fragestellungen und Impulse zu entwickeln.

This issue of KKA Magazine is devoted almost exclusively to the four theme evenings, an event series on the occasion of KulturKontakt Austria’s 20th anniversary. We associated »theme evening« with reflecting, listening and slowing down, as a kind of countermovement to the ubiquitous »hyperaccelerated standstill«, whose negative consequences have been pointed out by the German sociologist Hartmut Rosa. It was important to us to take the time and provide the space to discuss key issues of education, the arts and culture that will be playing an increasing role in our future work.
Participation in society, mobility, social change and CCSR were the themes we wanted to explore. We succeeded in acquiring eminent guests from Austria and abroad for our panels, with whom we discussed and developed central issues and initiatives in a workshop atmosphere.
In this issue you will find introductory presentations, a summary of the discussions, and a series of photos that give a visual impression of the evenings.
